This is a self-initiated project that stems from the pages of sketchbook.
My sketchbook follows me around most places and into it I put all the ideas I have, conversations I overhear and a lot of puns and wordplay.
To bridge the gap between the quick, impulsive drawings in my sketchbook and my more worked, refined illustrations I set myself a brief - to respond directly to my sketchbook as an image bank.
I wanted to stick closely to the aesthetic of these pen drawings. I left the design of characters the same while adding colour and created jointed paper puppets to give movement.
I used stop animation to produce a collection of moving shorts which come together into the 2 minutes and 28 seconds of film I am submitting to you.
