V&A ILLUSTRATION AWARDS
Student & Published Category Terms and Conditions
Student Conditions of Entry 2009

The award is open to anyone who has attended an illustration course during 2008 or 2009

Entry into the Student Illustrator category of the Awards is via the Online Entry System only

The closing date is 15 December 2009

The judges' decision is final
-
The competition is open to residents of the UK (excluding employees of the V&A)

No correspondence will be entered into

One entry per student

For illustrations, up to three images may be submitted. This may be a sequence as for an illustrated book, or may be alternative trials or preparatory work for a single piece such as a commercial illustration.

Up to three still images from an animation may be submitted together with a link to the actual animation hosted on a web site.

Illustrations and animations must have been unpublished (published work is eligible to enter the other categories of the V&A Illustration Awards).

Entries must have a clearly defined illustrative brief, which must be described on the competition entry form. The brief is open. Students may submit work set as coursework by their tutors or they may define their own imagined brief.

Winners must be prepared to lend some or all of the original artwork for the display of winners, which will run for six months from June 2010.

Winners will be required to allow reproduction of the artwork for use in web and printed publicity for the Awards.

All images uploaded must be in the JPEG format, using the extension *.jpg

Images must be a maximum file size of 1MB and not larger than 900 pixels in width.

Animations must be no longer than 3 minutes in length

The winners will be informed by email in February 2010 and will be announced at the presentation ceremony on 21 June 2010.
Published Category Conditions of Entry 2009

The award is open to illustrators living in the UK or publishing within the UK Market.

Work published between January 2009 to December 2009 will be eligible for this year's awards
