Create! Digital

Create! is a programme of workshops, courses, and free events for 11–19 year olds. There are four three-month seasons every year, each with a different theme related to the Museum's collectionsand exhibitions such as Fashion, Digital, Performance and Graphics.See below for what's on.

Booking information
Activities take place on Saturdays and during holidays. Some events are free and you can just drop-in, for others space is limited so you will need to book in advance. You can pay by credit or debit card over the phone or send a cheque made out to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Please bring a packed lunch for the day-long workshops.
One free place is available to a carer accompanying a disabled person.

Toy Hacking

During this fun workshop learn about basic electronics and how to hack toys! Reassemble toys with electronic gadgetry to make them move, light up and more....  All hacked toys will remain the property of the V&A after the workshop, but you will get a video of your toy on YouTube.

Create…Performance 

April-June 2010

Visit the V&A for a vibrant programme of practical courses, workshops and free events about theatre and performance. Use digital technology to design posters for your own show, and work with professional make-up artists, set and costume designers to develop your talents. See original items from the V&A Theatre Collections as well as videos of live shows.

Costumes for the stage need to be bold, hard-wearing and easy to wear. Using the Performing Arts costume collections, develop your design skills in creating a costume from scratch with a professional costume designer. Get ideas for colour and pattern and practical making skills. Show your work to an audience on the final day. Materials will be provided.

Drop in to watch key scenes from live recorded shows including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Our Country's Good, The Crucible, Doctor Faustus and Lady Windermere's Fan. A rare chance to watch these actors doing what they do best: performing in front of a live audience.
