Having the presses gives me a chance to explain about hallmarking and the purities of the various precious metals. I also explain the work of the Scottish Goldsmiths Trust to stimulate the craft of silversmithing in Scotland by staging exhibitions such as Silver of the Stars which is currently touring museums and galleries throughout the world including the V&A.
