Full of crafting humor and witty allusions, Mendoza's books gained immense popularity among Polish readers. The style of 1960 and 1970 provided inspiration for the whole book series, therefore I used some patterns from that period as a theme. I also used a comic books stroke and lively colors for the illustrations to emphasize the comedy style of the writer. Moreover, this characteristic, cropped frame of the pictures refers to the mystery story and underlines the criminal atmosphere in Mendoza's novels. To complete the project, I chose Tomas Brousil's Fishmonger typeface, designed endpapers and simple page layout.
