The Outssider

2 of 7 inside illustrations for Albert Camus' 'The Outsider'. The narrative develops around Meursault, an Algerian in North Africa who commits a random act of violence and kills an Arab man.The novel explores the subsequent trial and imprisonment of Meursault. His lack of emotion and failure to show remorse only serve to increase his guilt in the eyes of the law, and challenges the fundamental values of society.
