The bookshop I was commissioned to illustrate is Sam Read in Grasmere. The accompanying text is by Neil Rollinson
and he focuses on the bookshop as a refuge from the relentless rain and winter weather
of the Lake District. An escape from the ‘trinket shops and tea rooms’. He talks about
the inpressive contemporary poetry collection and the fact that the bookshop sits in the
birthplace of English Romanticism.
