Curiosity, humour and the light-hearted are key elements to my work. By mixing handmade marks with digital processes I produce a visual language which is bold and graphic. I’m particularly fascinated by people, their individual stories and the nostalgia of childhood.
My brief was to produce a short simple tale aimed primarily at children aged 3-5 years old. This was my entry for the Macmillan Children’s Prize. The idea of ‘DON’T’ originated from a child running upto me for a cuddle, and the mother telling her not to do this to strangers. I aimed to explore dangers children face and behaviour in a humorous, fun and light-hearted way.
