Patric Sandri's images use intricate digital methods to create locations of disorientation. The images entice and dupe the viewer in equal measure. The disorientation arises from the duality set up in the images, an ambivalence between nowhere and somewhere, leading to a crisis of knowledge and a crisis of understanding. The result is a double state of disorientation, both topographical and psychological. In ‘Locations of Disorientation’ Sandri uses collage, monoprints, drawings, paintings and digital drawings to investigate these notions by creating artificial worlds and imaginings that are at once familiar and alien.
