Sentimental Heart: Romance and the Cinema

Sentimental Heart is my final year self-initiated project for university. It is the exploration of the idealised representation of love in Hollywood movies. I drew inspiration from films ranging from 1950s musicals through to romantic comedies of the 1990s. From this I created a series of posters. Some of actual films ( Image 1, Poster deisgn for the film Love Story 1970) while others depicted the recurring themes of love in film such as the kiss that often closes the film ( Image 2, Poster design And Then They Kiss). The final image is a compilation of some of my prepatory work.
