Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

I wanted to create a Book Cover that stayed true to Lewis Carroll’s Alice, but at the same time bring something new to a book that is undoubtedly etched in the collective subconscious.

A lot of current 'Alice in Wonderland' covers including prints of the early Tenniel illustrations are very busy trying to include as many aspects of the text as possible, which make the cover messy.

By drawing inspiration from the story of Wonderland, the character of Alice and her adventures whilst there I decided to keep a simple pallet of colour, one that sub-consciously represents Alice. Accompanied by my line work portraying her without the cover becoming overwhelming and confusing to the viewer. Weather they are a young child new to the adventures of Alice, or an adult and simply re-visiting the story with fond memories of the childhood classic.
