The images are for a college project. The brief was to produce 7 illustrations for the poem Jabberwocky, by Lewis Carroll. I chose the theme of WWI, to bring different slant to the poem. The story follows a young soldier in WWI. At the beginning, the images illustrate the jubilant expectations of the soldier. As the story unfolds, my illustrations become more sombre as he experiences the realities of that war. I have used a combination of biro, watercolour washes and monoprint. They were compiled digitally.
