'The Still Presence of Jeremy Black' is part of a visual narrative compilation that I am working on for my self directed studies during third year. Jeremy is a character that is never seen but his presence makes itself known in very subtle ways, a bit like Mr. Nobody. He is the personification of childhood fears and imagination. I came up with the character after remembering being scared of the toilet flushing as a little boy.
I am running a few story arcs alongside one another in contrasting styles and pace but all with a slightly unifying theme. 'Jeremy Black' is the main one, with Relationship's Need Work secondary to it and others accompanying.
Doing this is giving me the freedom to develop my various ways of working, while being able to put together a collection that can be made into a graphic novel of sorts, or even a few shorter ones, by the end of the year.
