Epstein's 30 year war

Epstein's 30 year war

In 1908, Jacob Epstein's sculptures for the British Medical Association Headquarters on The Strand, London, were installed. The mutilated remains still stand today. The nudity of the statues caused controversy and protests at the time and were considered by many as obscene. This piece explores Epstein's fight for the statues survival whilst considering the sex trade, commercialisation and the overt sexualisation that exists in the world today.
