The Gaia Hypothesis

The Gaia Hypothesis

This piece is an editorial illustration I decided to produce in response to an article in New Scientist magazine. James Lovelock's theory that life on Earth regulates itself independently of our interference proved contentious with the scientific community, however the public loved it.

I wanted to depict the scientific community's lack of acceptance of the hypothesis, whilst also keeping the hypothesis at the forefront of the illustration in a way that made it look alive.
