A Morsel of Guilt, An adaption of Roald Dahl's 'Lamb to the Slaughter'

A Morsel of Guilt, An adaption of Roald Dahl's 'Lamb to the Slaughter'

These Images are from my second 3rd year Illustration project brief. In which we had to take and existing shorty story or play and adapt it to create at least a sixteen page illustrated book.

Taking Roald Dahl's thrilling short story 'Lamb to the Slaughter' as my story to adapt, I produced a series of illustrations to create a French-folded book to act as a sequel to Dahl's original story.

My sequel to the story follows Mary Maloney (the main character in the original story who had two years prior murdered her husband and gotten away with it) over the course of a night as her guilt manifests into hallucinations of what she thinks is her late husbands ghost, tormenting her for the crime committed. Several happenings around the house quickly escalate until reaching the climax in which Mrs Maloney is killed by the same object that killed her late husband, a leg of lamb.
