Lots being planned at the V&A for Tapestry in first half of 2006 I’m going to try to keep this to the point! Display in Room 101 – ‘Concealed Discovered Revealed’ Has been extended for another month until Sunday 5 Feb including ‘No Mans Land’ (detail, below left).

Installations: ‘Hieroglyph’ (detail, above right) and ‘Order’ Will remain on the walls of Room 101 until 9 July 2006. Next Display in Room 101 – ‘Penelope’s Thread’ 11 Feb – 9 July Woven Tapestries from the V&A’s Permanent Contemporary Collection – including ‘La Dame Aux Belles Plumes by Lynne Curran (detail, below left) and ‘March Diver’ by William Jefferies (detail, below right) The new piece that I am developing from research into the V&A’s historic collection will be hung in this display in Spring 2006.

Tapestry Study Day: Talking Tapestry Sat 20 May 10.30 ‐ 16.30 Lecture Theatre, V&A “The study day will look closely at the medium of tapestry, examining the Museum’s Historical Collection as well as the work of some of the best contemporary designers in the field.” • Introduction to V&A Tapestry Collection: Helen Persson, curator Asian Dept. Tapestry Weaving Demonstration Sat6 & Sun7May 2‐5pm Room 101 Free I will demonstrate tapestry weaving and show textile samples developed during the year. 2 Day Course: Woven Tapestry: Design & Making Mon 22 May & Tue 23 May 10.30 ‐ 16.30 Studio, V&A (mixed ability) Me again!
