It’s almost time for our Artists in Residence to begin installing their displays for London Design Festival and we have a familiar face reutrning who has offered us this intriguing sneak preview. James Rigler, a previous Ceramics Resident, is installing mysterious looking objects inside of the cast of Trajan’s Column in the Cast Courts.

What needs to be carefully wrapped in velvet? How many of these objects will there be? How do you even get inside the column?

Well we can only answer one of those questions for now. There’s a small door that lets you inside the column (one person at a time) and you can come and see James’ installation in the Cast Courts, Gallery 46a, from 13 – 21 September, 10.00-17.45 daily and until 22.00 on Friday. James will also be giving gallery talks on 15, 17 and 19 September at 13.00 if you want to discover more about his display inside the column and his practice as a ceramicist.
