Not travelling far from yesterday’s shop, actually virtually right next door. Soho and the sex industry. Neon signs not for art today but for their original night time allure.
We are seeing the sterilisation of many parts of London toward a gentrified boring landscape of branded luxury shops, a playground for the rich. I fear we will lose so much of what makes London so exciting and interesting. As areas are taken over for luxury flats, there will cease to be the mix of people, businesses and shops that make London such a unique and wonderful city.
