The National Art Library will soon be implementing a new library management system. This system runs our cataloguing, membership and book ordering processes. Our current system is thirty years old, is very inflexible and has been failing quite regularly.
In mid-December 2017 we will implement our new OCLC WorldShare system. OCLC is a major, not-for-profit, international company responsible for WorldCat. As with all new systems there are bound to be some teething problems which we will do our utmost to resolve as soon as possible.
Features of the new system will include:
- A more stable system with a significantly reduced likelihood of breakdown
- A service which will continuously improve over time
- Our extensive range of e-books and e-journals will become increasingly visible and available for download on your own devices
- You will have greater control over managing your account with us
We will update you soon with more specific information about when all of this will happen and what you will need to do.
