V&A Illustration Awards 2015 Shortlist

Word and Image
May 1, 2015

Victoria_and_Albert_00005With just over two weeks to go before the winners are announced, the judges of the 2015 V&A Illustration Awards have whittled down the entries from nearly a thousand to just three in each category. On the 18th of May we’ll find out the winners of the awards for:

Book Illustration, Editorial Illustration, Book Cover Design and Student Illustrator of the year.

The shortlist this year is so strong, so broad in its range of styles, techniques and subject-matter that the task of finally choosing a winner is not going to be an easy one. Our judges (all industry experts and specialists) are really going to have to make some tough choices.

The winning works will all be on display here in the V&A (Room 85 National Art Library) until the 2nd of August 2015. In the meantime, how do you think our judges will decide? Which way will it go? Have a look at the shortlist below and let us know what you think.

Victoria_and_Albert_00005Whatever your views may be on who should win the 2015 awards, it’s safe to say that this year’s list of shortlisted artists shows that illustration in the UK is still as fresh, as innovative and versatile as ever.

Huge congratulations to all the shortlisted artists and we wish them the very best of luck on the 18th of May and indeed for their future careers.
