Ever wondered what its like to be a V&A Member? From the 9 til16 May the V&A will host its fifth annual Members’ Week. Members’ Week is an opportunity for non-Members to enjoy a taster of what is on offer as a Member. During the week anyone can book a host of exciting events.
This year, like previous years, the programme for Members’ Week compliments the exhibitions currently on show. We proudly kick off the week with Elizabeth Emanuel who co-designed the wedding dress of Diana, Prince of Wales. This is coupled with her exclusive design for our Members’ Week tote bag, which Members can collect from the Members Desk in the Grand Entrance. During Members’ Week 2014, Members can enjoy artistic demonstrations, guided tours, talks and even a free scone, which is reason enough to pop in as a Member!
Once the week has opened the events keep coming thick and fast, from artist demonstrations in the Members’ Room, to Close Observation Sessions where Members have the opportunity to see objects up-close with some of our in-house assistant curators.
The programme includes highlights such as a talk about the famous fashion sense of Cecil Beaton, a look into the faultless style of Queen Elizabeth II and a chance to see into the archive acquired by the V&A on Vivien Leigh. Both Members and non-Members alike are invited to join us for any of these events. For more information please have a look at the Members’ Week
page on the website.
Should the week entice you into becoming a Member we can even deduct the ticket price of the event you attend from your Membership. Your Membership then opens up the entire Membership Events programme. The Events programme includes a huge range of events from external visits, to evening talks given by a range of speakers such as the artist Tracey Emin and wallpaper designer, Marthe Armitage.
Members get free unlimited access to all exhibitions, access to the V&A Members’ Events programme and a subscription to the V&A Magazine as well as a host of other benefits. Find out more about V&A Membership
