David Bowie is, co-curated by Geoffrey Marsh and Victoria Broackes from the V&A’s Department of Theatre and Performance, has opened at the Museum of Image and Sound, Sao Paulo and will be on display until 14 April 2014.
David Bowie is… an exhibition
David Bowie’s career in music has spanned nearly 50 years and brought him international acclaim. The Victoria and Albert Museum has been given exclusive access to David Bowie’s personal archive to create this exhibition. The first international retrospective on Bowie’s extraordinary career, this exhibition takes visitors inside Bowie’s creative processes and shows how his work has channelled wider movements in art, design, theatre and contemporary culture. It presents Bowie as an astute observer of contemporary society whose striking interventions in visual and pop culture have left a powerful legacy.
David Bowie is… on the move
David Bowie is at the V&A received an extraordinary public and critical reception. It was seen by over 311,000 visitors between March and August 2013 before being packed up by the V&A’s skillful team and sent on its travels to the Art Gallery of Ontario. It is currently on display at the Museum of Image and Sound, Sao Paolo.
The exhibition will be on display at the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paolo until 14 April 2014, before continuing its international tour.
