“The collections in the V&A never fail to intrigue and inspire me…the nation is privileged to have such a resource…it’s the sort of place I’d like to be shut in overnight.” Alexander McQueen

Over the last week we have been having a lot of fun with families visiting the museum on their Easter holidays. There are lots of great activities to take part in across the museum, from dance performances to art workshops, all looking at fantastical stories, animals and myths around the V&A.

If you make your way to the Learning Centre, why not come and try our Digital Kids session? Create a digital collage with objects from our galleries to make your own Alexander McQueen styled piece of fashion from three places that inspired him: London, Japan and Atlantis. Once your masterpiece is complete, print out your design to take away with you!

McQueen would often visit the V&A to get ideas for his collections. We have gathered together objects from all over the museum from Search the Collections so that you can turn jewellery into dresses, ceramics into hats and armour into suits.

It is a free drop-in workshop taking place from 10.30 – 17.00 until Sunday, 12th April. To find out about other fun family activities to do in the musem, visit our Family Art Fun Calendar.
