Day of Record: Tattoo
On Saturday 29 April 2000 the V&A staged its first Day of Record. Over 1500 tattooed people visited the Museum on that day to have their artworks photographed for inclusion in the V&A digital archive of tattoos.

Day of Record: Nails, Weaves & Naturals
On Monday 7 May 2001 the V&A staged its second Day of Record celebrating the diversity of Black British hairstyles and nail art. Over 1200 people sporting a full range of hairstyles and elaborately decorated nails attended the event.

Day of Record: Notting Hill Carnival 2003
On Sunday 24 August and Monday 25 August 2003 the V&A invited visitors to the Notting Hill Carnival to be photographed in order to celebrate the style and fashion choices of the diverse groups who attend and participate.

Gothic: A Night of Record
On Friday 31 October 2003 the V&A staged 'Gothic: A Night of Record'. At a special Friday Late for the stunning Gothic exhibition Goths were invited to have their photograph taken to document this innovative style.
