Symposium

Beyond the Book
Friday 18 April 2008
10.30-17.00
Lecture Theatre

A one-day symposium that accompanies the Blood on Paper exhibition.

At a time when the notion of the book is increasingly challenged by the screen and the computer, this event aims to examine some of the different and inventive ways in which leading contemporary artists have approached this area. It also explores shifting definitions and the recent context for artists' books.

Topics include private presses and their relationships with artists, the development of the genre, formats and production, and artists' books in the digital age.
£45, concessions available.

French Connection Friday Late

25 April 2008

April's FRENCH CONNECTION FRIDAY LATE event is a rare opportunity to get inside the world of contemporary artists' books. Linked to the Blood on Paper exhibition in the Contemporary Space, the night will feature talks with leading artists and curators, workshops and behind-the-scenes access to many great works from the V&A's own collection in the National Art Library.

DJs, food and bar will complement the night.
