What is RSS?
Fashion in Motion is a series of live catwalk events presented at the V&A. Featuring some of the greatest designers of our time, Fashion in Motion brings catwalk couture to a wider audience by modelling it against the beautiful backdrop of the museum.

Giles Deacon
Date: 17 July 2009
Giles Deacon graduated from Central Saint Martins and worked with Jean Charles de Castelbajac in Paris and Bottega Veneta and Gucci, in Milan, before launching his eponymous label 'Giles' in 2004. His debut received instant international acclaim and brought a renewed focus to London fashion.

Millinery in Motion: Stephen Jones

Tying in with the V&A's exhibition 'Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones', Fashion In Motion presented the work of world famous hat designer Stephen Jones, alongside five of London's the most exciting new milliners.

Roksanda Ilincic

Roksanda Ilincic is one of London's most successful young designers, Her show took the form of five vignettes specially created for the the V&A and featured a selection of key pieces from her past three collections.

Central St Martins Graduates 2008

On Friday 12 September 2008 the the V&A presented the work of three exciting new designers, recent graduates of Central Saint Martins, in a Fashion in Motion catwalk show around the Museum galleries.

Ma Ke Wuyong

Ma Ke is one of the most prolific fashion designers working in China today, she graduated from the Suzhou Institute of Silk Textile Technology in 1992 and four years later set up her own label Exception de Mixmind.

Manish Arora

Featuring one of India's most prolific designers, Manish Arora is known for his vivid palette of riotous colours and kitsch motifs. His garments combine contemporary silhouettes with a range of traditional Indian craft methods including embroidery, appliqué and beading.

Internationally celebrated Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferré showed for the first time in the UK highlights from his extensive archive and Autumn/Winter 2005/6 collection at the V&A.

Anne Valérie Hash
May 2005
Anne Valérie Hash is one of the few women who designs for women. Her unique style is based on the deconstruction of menswear into impeccably cut womenswear. Its inspiration can be found in Coco Chanel, who borrowed from men’s wardrobes to dress the modern woman of the 1920s, and Madeleine Vionnet, who draped her designs directly onto a reduced mannequin.

In October 2004 the V&A presented the hottest talents of Central Saint Martins 2004 graduates with two stunning catwalk shows.

Swarovski: Runway Rocks

The V&A celebrated Swarovski's collaboration with the world of fashion with a series of stunning catwalk shows, presenting a unique collection of spectacular specially-commissioned jewels for the catwalk. The designers, all linked to fashion and jewellery, were asked to merge fashion, body ornament and jewellery, and innovate with crystal to create their ultimate runway jewellery piece.
