Design a Thomas Hope inspired room
In the book, Hope's designs appear as outline engravings, as colour would have put the book beyond the pocket of the very craftsmen that Hope wished to influence. However, vibrant colour was important to Hope's interior designs, as were varied textures and contrasting materials.
The three Thomas Hope rooms which form the basis of this activity, the Aurora Room, Egyptian Room and the Third Vase Room, were actual designs for three rooms from Hope’s Duchess Street House.
