My daughter, Holly, and I had been planning make a work and decided to do it on our local beach. Penmaenmawr translates as "big stone head" after the granite headland. There is a mixture of rock types, but the slate which washes along from the west forms pleasing smooth pebbles and we selected these to make the work.
