Behind the scenes: Transporting the Three Graces
The plinth plays a very significant role in the transportation of 'The Three Graces'. It has evolved over the years, and now represents an ideal solution to the handling of such a large, extremely heavy sculpture.
The top section of the plinth is a removable pallet base which is specifically formed to the shape of the sculpture's base.
It is intended that the object remains permanently on this pallet, thus avoiding the need for any further lifting/sliding of the sculpture itself.
