The innovative use of colour is a major trend in contemporary architecture.

This display features key projects by major UK and international architects, who use colour to create identity, define space and heighten our experience of a building.

The long history of the use of colour in architecture will be shown with historic objects from the V&A and RIBA collections.

About displays

Complementing our permanent collections, there are many free temporary displays around the V&A. They range in size from a single case to a room.

A gift in your will

You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the V&A is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. It is not just the great collectors and the wealthy who leave legacies to the V&A. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the V&A as much as you have.
