Development of the prints and drawings galleries, 2003
The Julie and Robert Breckman Gallery
This gallery was formally opened in 2005 by HRH Princess Alexandra following a generous gift from Julie and Robert Breckman. Together with the miniatures gallery, it forms a continuation of the first five rooms of the paintings galleries which opened to the public in November 2003.
The Julie and Robert Breckman Gallery of prints and drawings contains changing displays of both prints and drawings, which are drawn from the V&A's collections.
Designer
The gallery was designed by Casson Mann who previously worked in the Museum designing the award-winning British Galleries and the V&A's highly successful exhibition Art Deco.
This development was completed as part of FuturePlan
FuturePlan is transforming the V&A by revitalising visitor facilities and redisplaying the collections. Using the best architects and designers, we are bringing the V&A into the 21st century and restoring modern design and innovation to the heart of the museum.
