Fashion in Motion: Gianfranco Ferré

Fashion in Motion is a series of live fashion shows at the V&A featuring leading fashion designers from across the world. Internationally celebrated Italian fashion designer Gianfranco Ferré showed highlights from his extensive archive for the first time in the UK.

In 1978, Gianfranco Ferré founded his own company and in 1989 became artistic director of Christian Dior. Ferré designed haute couture and women's prêt-à-porter collections for Dior until 1996, when he returned to work exclusively for his own company.

Including Ferré's trademark reinvention of the white shirt, the outfits that he selected to show at the V&A reflected his passion for travel and featured clothes inspired by cultures from all over the world.
