Fashion in Motion: Manish Arora

Fashion in Motion is a series of live fashion shows at the V&A featuring leading fashion designers from across the world. This event featured Manish Arora in a spectacular celebration of the designer's time in London.

Manish Arora is known for his vivid palette of riotous colours and kitsch motifs. His garments combine contemporary silhouettes with a range of traditional Indian craft methods including embroidery, appliqué and beading.

After studying at the National Insitute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi, the designer set up his eponymous label in 1997. In 2005, having exhibited and shown his work extensively both in India and internationally, he joined the schedule at London Fashion Week.

Manish was selected to show at Paris Fashion Week for the Autumn/Winter 2007 – 08 season. His V&A Fashion In Motion event was a retrospective of the spectacular pieces he had shown during his time in London.
