Readers working in the National Art Library can seek help and advice in using the Library's resources, including the Library Catalogue, databases and the National Art Library Collections. Please ask at the Enquiry Desk or the Counter.
Enquiries by telephone
For answers to brief enquiries, telephone the Enquiry Desk on +44 (0)20 7942 2400 between 10.00 and 17.30, Tuesday to Saturday. Staff can provide information on:
- Registering to use the Library
- Using the National Art Library
- National Art Library collections
- Other libraries' holdings
- Biographical details about artists, designers, architects and craftspeople
- Brief subject enquiries in the field of art, craft and design
Online enquiries and enquiries by letter
We aim to answer enquiries as quickly as possible although you should allow up to 10 working days for a reply (up to 20 working days for Freedom of Information requests).

CONFERENCE: This symposium will explore the presence of the past, National identity, taste and nostalgia in relation to the Recording Britain collection of water colours and drawings produced at the start of World War II. Speakers include Patrick Wright, David Heathcote, and artists Ingrid Pollard, Abigail Reynolds, Simon Roberts and Paul Scott.
