National Art Library inter-library loans
The National Art Library is part of the Inter-Library Loans (ILL) community, which is committed to the co-operation of libraries in sharing resources. Our catalogue is available over the internet and we are a member of OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). We can supply photocopies to outside institutions where the request complies with our photocopying restrictions and current European copyright law, but we are unable to lend any of the items in our collections.
Members of the public
Photocopies of material in the National Art Library can be ordered through our postal photocopying service. Please apply to the address below. We do not offer an Inter-Library Loan service (for items not held in the Library) to our readers.
UK institutions
Please request items through the British Library Document Supply Centre or on a British Library form. The British Library will forward requests to us for material that they do not hold themselves.
Non-UK institutions
There are two ways to apply for a photocopy. Requests can be passed directly to the National Art Library. They will be treated as postal photocopying orders: an invoice must be signed and returned with payment in pounds sterling before the copying can be done. The British Library Document Supply Centre will also administer any ILL requests. Registration with the Supply Centre is required, at no cost. Organisations who register with them can use any of their services. We do not accept IFLA vouchers or cheques in foreign currency.

A gift in your will
You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the V&A is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. It is not just the great collectors and the wealthy who leave legacies to the V&A. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the V&A as much as you have.
