Pair of dishes by Lucie Rie, United Kingdom, 1967. Museum no. CIRC.1231-1967
The Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Gallery
Experimental and avant garde ceramics trace the development of studio (or handmade) pottery throughout the 20th century as it came to be seen as a sculptural and abstract art form in its’ own right. The displays are arranged chronologically and include work from North America, Japan and Europe, featuring the work of Bernard Leach, Pablo Picasso, Ruth Duckworth, Ryoji Koie, Alison Britton and Betty Woodman.
Room 142 is on Level 6 of the V&A South Kensington.
