Room 127: Architecture Entrance
Dominated by a frieze by sculptor Gilbert Bayes from Doulton House, this room serves as the entrance to the recently redeveloped Architecture Gallery. Doulton House was the headquarters of the Royal Doulton ceramics firm in Lambeth. It was a striking Art Deco building designed by T.P. Bennett and faced in black gold and ivory-colored ceramic. Above the first floor windows was Bayes' frieze, 'Pottery through the Ages' which shows the various stages of ceramic production.
Room 127 is on Level 4 of the V&A South Kensington.
