Room 68: Modernist to Contemporary Silver

Room 68 is devoted to silver of the last 100 years. There are thematic displays illustrating silver from the post-war period, the inter-war years, the Jazz Age as well as Art Deco, Arts and Crafts and Modernist styles. Claire Robinson's 'Bolero Jacket' is featured as well as Jan van Nouhuys' 'Pair of Candlesticks'.
From Room 68 you can try out computer interactives and explore various themes and ideas at the Silver Study Area. The Silver Galleries include more than 3,500 objects from medieval times to the present day, including pieces by some of the world's most celebrated goldsmiths.
Room 68 is on Level 3 of the V&A South Kensington.
A gift in your will
You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the V&A is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. It is not just the great collectors and the wealthy who leave legacies to the V&A. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the V&A as much as you have.
