Room 53: Rococo Style

Room 53 is a study into the flamboyant Rococo style. It was used mainly for objects and interiors and never used for architecture apart from the occasional garden building, as the style had been developed by makers and craftsmen. With its deliberately asymmetrical forms, dynamic, fluid lines and colour, Rococo style was a complete contrast to the Palladian exteriors of the period.
Room 53 is on Level 2 of the V&A South Kensington.
