Room 145: World Ceramics

This second principal gallery offers a chronological and world-wide introduction to ceramics with objects from the Far East and South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The displays are set out chronologically, exploring the interchange of taste, style and technology between the East and West, for example the spread of the blue and white tradition from China to the Middle East and on to Europe. This gallery, containing many of the V&A’s masterpieces, spans over 4000 years of ceramic history, from 2500 BC to the present day.
Room 145 is on Level 6 of the V&A South Kensington.
