Collection Selection Boxes – Architecture: The Process of Design

Our Collection Selection Boxes are a unique opportunity to handle original prints, drawings and photographs from our collection. These resources contain carefully curated material that introduces a particular period, style, material, or technique, and are available for individual study or group teaching.

Architecture: The Process of Design

This Collection Selection Box contains a variety of drawings produced by architects at different stages of the design process in order to develop and communicate their ideas. Produced from the 1770s through to the late 1990s, these drawings also demonstrate how architects' approaches to drawing and techniques have evolved over time.

This resource is a small sample of the 1.5 million architectural drawings in the collections of the V&A and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
