Room 133: Furniture techniques

Room 133 presents exemplary items of furniture that showcase furniture design techniques including carving, veneer, marquetry, cane and rush, upholstery and includes works by leading furniture designers including Thomas Chippendale.

Room 133 is part of the Dr Susan Weber Gallery, which presents the Museum’s outstanding collection of British and international furniture from the 15th century to the present day. It focuses on questions of form, function, and techniques of construction and decoration in the creation of furniture for over six hundred years.
