The V&A has won the London Lifestyle Award for Cultural Attraction of the Year. The awards are a celebration of London and the businesses, events and individuals who contribute to its vibrancy and success.

Guardian and Observer Travel Award for Best UK Attraction 2010
The V&A has won the award for Best UK Attraction as voted for by readers of the Guardian and Observer.
The awards are calculated by readers being asked to complete a questionnaire published in the newspapers and online, rating the quality of the attractions, companies, airlines and hotels they used for their travel, as well as nominating their favourite cities and countries. An independent company records the data and translates the results into a percentage score, thus allowing them to compare smaller companies (who are bound to receive fewer mentions) with larger rivals.
The V&A received a 93.7% score placing us first in the attractions category. In 2009 we were ranked 7th, so a great achievement this year.

British Construction Industry Award for Conservation 2010
The V&A's new Medieval & Renaissance Galleries have won the British Construction Industry Conservation Award, and have received a High Commendation in the Building Project £3m - £50m Award category.
The Building Construction Industry Awards seek to recognise outstanding achievement in the construction of buildings, taking account of a wide range of factors including architectural and engineering design, but also consideration of the construction process, delivery to time and budget, and client satisfaction.

The highest accolade in English tourism. The V&A was named joint winners with the Imperial War Museum Duxford.

Gold Winner Visitor Attraction of the Year 2007
The V&A won the Visit London Best Visitor Attraction of the Year Award in 2007, beating off stiff competition from the Horniman Museum, South Bank Centre, British Airways London Eye, The London Dungeon and the National Maritime Museum.
The judges said the following about the V&A:
'June 2007 saw the V&A celebrate its 150th anniversary, and what better way to do it than with some truly excellent and innovative initiatives that helped draw record-breaking numbers of visitors. Events such as the incredibly popular Kylie exhibition, the new Jameel Gallery and associated events, and the Black Heritage events programme, attracted visitors from a wide range of cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds, many of whom were first time visitors to the Museum. Time Out praised the Museum's recent achievements, saying, "The V&A has matured into one of our city's world-class museums, the magisterial yet accessible one we take visitors to when we want to show off what London is made of" – and we couldn't agree more!'
