  • Computer Arts Society
    The Computer Arts Society (CAS) was established in London in 1968 to promote the creative use of computers in the arts. The original CAS was active from 1968 until the mid 1980s, and provided a forum for those working in the newly emerging field of creative computing. The Society reformed in 2003 and operates an active programme of events and meetings.
  • Computer Art and Technocultures
    The Computer Art and Technocultures project is a joint AHRC funded research project between the V&A and Birkbeck College, University of London, running from 2007-2010. Following on from the work of CACHe (2002-2005), the project aims to document and evaluate the Patric Prince collection and archive of computer-generated art and design, and to use these as the basis for further research in this area.
  • CACHE - Computer Art Context History Etc
    Funded by the AHRB, the CACHe Project ran from 2002 to 2005 at the School of History of Art, Film and Visual Media, Birkbeck College, University of London. Using the archive of the Computer Arts Society as the basis for research, the project examined the development of computer-based art in the UK during the 1960s and 1970s.
