Dress, Countdown, 1970. Museum no. T.728-2000

James Wedge trained at Walthamstow Art  School and the Royal College of Art , specialising in millinery. He made hats for couturier Ronald Paterson before setting up his own business off Carnaby Street. 

He co-owned the Countdown and Top Gear boutiques on King's Road, Chelsea with Pat Booth before becoming a fashion photographer, and more recently, a painter.
