[Zamp Kelp] My name is Zamp Kelp, I used to be a member of the group who did that object Oasis No. 7 for Documenta 5 in 1972. The group was called Haus-Rucker-Co and there were Laurids Ortner, Klaus Pinter, Manfred Ortner and me, Zamp Kelp.

There was first an object called Balloon for Two, which was installed in ’67 as a rather fancy, positive thinking object and in some way Oasis is a remake but with a total different contents from the meaning.

Year 1972 in Kassel, it was installed infront of the Fridericianum and opened up to Friedrichsplatz so when you seemingly escaped from the urban situation, you were again catched by the Friedrichsplatz because the view went out to Friedrichsplatz and the two palm trees with the hand mark are in some way a sarcastic interpretation of our desire for nature.
