Civic Objects

Display: Dispersed around the museum, pick up a guide at the information desk or download the Civic Objects Locations guide

1 April – 19 July, 2015

This series of interventions brings objects of the contemporary public realm to the galleries and highlights historic designs that make up the permanent displays, addressing matters of public life, privacy, security, power and politics.

From an early street light, to a security bollard designed for the 2012 London Olympics, to a video game used by the United Nations, these objects illustrate the close relationship between design and public life.

This display forms part of the exhibition All of This Belongs to You and can be found throughout the galleries – download the Civic Objects Locations guide
