Join us for a free, festive screening of Silent Night, a stirring opera that recounts the true story of a spontaneous cease-fire among Scottish, French and German soldiers during World War I.

The opera was composed by Kevin Puts, who won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize in Music for this work, with libretto by Mark Campbell. The opera was based on the 2005 film Joyeux Noël, directed by Christian Carion and produced by Nord-Ouest Production. It was commissioned by Minnesota Opera with co-producer Opera Company of Philadelphia, and opened on November 12, 2011 at the Ordway Theatre, St. Paul Minnesota to great critical acclaim. The opera is sung in English, German, French, Italian and Latin.
