'This piece was made from an old file I found on the site of a demolished garage in Glasgow. The form of the file determined the shape of the finished piece and immediately suggested a bracelet. Other relics of the industrial age were incorporated to make the chain - rusted washers and spring washers - combining traditional techniques and materials to make a contemporary bracelet with an ancient feel, making something desirable from things otherwise discarded.'
